Too often, when backs or midfielders have the ball, the only thing they see of their forwards are their backs and butts as they run away from the ball. The midfielder has the ball and his only real option is to dribble because the two players in front of him are both running away. The only thing the player with the ball can see is the back of his teammates jerseys. An alternative is to have the near forward check back to the ball while the other forward makes a diagonal run. With each of these runs, the player with the ball sees something other than just the back of the jersey. As a general rule, make sure you aren't running away from the ball and remember, if you can't see the ball, chances are, you will not receive the pass either. Give your teammates as many options as possible by making sure they see something other than just your back.
